INTERMEADIATE SHAFT REMOVAL III. 1. Loosen the universal joint bolt between steering column & intermediate shaft. 2. Remove the universal joint bolt between intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly. 3. Disengage the intermediate shaft from rack & pinion assembly and take out the intermediate shaft. REFITMENT: 1. Keep the front wheels in straight ahead position. 2. Follow the reverse procedure of removal. NOTE Refitment of universal joint between • intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly use new bolt for tightening. Wheel alignment is necessary after • installation (Refer wheel alignment procedure). WARNING Do not reuse the universal joint bolts. STEERING_MANDO 14
