MOTOR REMOVAL E. REMOVAL Disconnect battery. (Refer battery removal 1. procedure/Body Electrical group). Remove steering wheel (Refer Steering wheel 2. removal procedure). Remove two screws and one nut of cover 3. nacelle. Remove lower panel covers attached to the 4. dashboard. Disconnect the multifunction switch connector. 5. Remove the column outside. 6. Remove the mounting bolt and remove motor. 7. REFITMENT Conduct the “Calibration” and “ECU” variant by 1. TATA tool. Erase the DTC if available. 2. Turn off the IGN switch and wait for 20 sec or 3. more. Then do regular check after starting the vehicle. Tightening torque value is 18-22 Nm. RACK & PINION ASSEMBLY REMOVAL F. REMOVAL Remove lower universal joint bolt and make 1. steering rack free from the steering column assembly. Remove both front wheels (Refer wheel 2. removal procedure in Wheels and tyres section). Remove tie rod ball joint nyloc nut. 3. Remove tie rod end by using tie rod ball joint 4. puller. (Part No. 2871 5890 4601). Follow steps (3) and (4) to remove tie rod ball 5. joint from other side. WARNING Steering arm should not be hammered for removal of tie rod outer ball joints as this may lead to damage of steering arm part. STEERING (MANDO) 17
