Engine overheating a) Defective temperature sensor b) Defective instrument cluster c) Less coolant in the system / Leakage in cooling system d) Defective water pump e) Engine overloaded due to :- Brake binding Clutch slippage f) Defective thermostat g) Engine cooling fan malfunction a) Replace the temperature sensor b) Check DTC and rectify c) Top up / Inspect system for leaks d) Replace the water pump e) Action to be taken 1. Adjust brake shoes 2. Locked if caliper piston is stretched replace the caliper piston 3. Replace affected parts f) Remove thermostat and check for proper opening at specified temperature. g) Test operation of engine cooling fan, repair / replace as necessary. 7 Over cooling a) Defective thermostat b) Defective temperature sending unit a) Remove thermostat and check for proper opening at specified temperature. b) Check coolant temperature sending unit. Replace as necessary.
