276 ENGINE 273 MPFI Sr. No. Sensor/Actuator Storage Tightening Installation / Handling / Temperature Torque Storage Instructions 11 1. Bouncing of ECU in mounting positions is not allowed. 2. Unit has to be fastened at the 4 marked positions. 3. Evenness of the 4 clamp areas has to be within 0.5 mm. 4. Ensure proper ground of ECUbefore data set flashing. 5. Upper limit of surface pressure of screwing areas of ECU 140 N/sq mm. 6. Harness needs to be fixed mechanically at the area of ECU (distance < 100 mm). 7. Wiring harness needs to be fixed in a way that excitation of the ECU has the same phase. 8. ESD protection required (e.g. shoes, gloves – this should available at all assembly stations where there is contact electrical components, also sensors) critical. 9. Do not drop the ECU. 10. Do not expose to moisture. 11. Do not use the cable more than 20 cm for the ground lines to be connected on chassis. 12. Do not operate without fuse of battery voltage. 13. Avoidwelding operations after assembly of ECU. (-40 ºC to 140 ºC) (85 ºC to 140 ºC) for 500 Hrs (70 ºC to 85 ºC) for 1000 Hrs (40 ºC to 70 ºC) for 2000 Hrs Storage relative room humidity: 25%...75% ECU - HT Cable 12 1. While fitting HT Cable, follow this sequence. • Fit the spark plug side boot first & make sure that the Cable boot is properly aligned with the spark plug. The cable boot should be pushed hard on the spark plug for proper engagement. • Fit the ignition coil side boot. • Also ensure the metal terminals inside the cable boot are in full contact (engaged) with the metal connecting surfaces of the ignition coil connector. 2. Make sure that the engine is not very hot while removing the HT cable. If hot, let it cool. 3. While removing the HT Cable, • First remove the ignition coil side boot • Then remove the spark plug side boot. 4. While removing the HT Cables, remove it one by one. Don’t remove both the cables together.
