FATC 23 B. OAT SENSOR The ambient temperature sensor is an encapsulated thermistor that provides the ECU with an input of external air temperature. Ambient sensor is a thermistor that decreases its resistance when temperature increases and increases when temperature decreases. LOCATION Outside Ambient Temperature (OAT) sensor located on cross member behind the front bumper. CONNECTOR DETAIL PIN DESCRIPTION 1 Analog Supply 2 GND INSPECTION Measure the resistance between terminals of the sensor at minimum two temperatures. The resistance value should match with stated values of resistance in table below T (˚C) R Gerber (Ω) Tol (K) U (V) -10 16567.3 ± 277.6 ± 0.30 2.5261 ± 0.0347 0 9773.2 ± 118.4 ± 0.25 2.2035 ± 0.0310 10 5953.9 ± 102.8 ± 0.36 18366 ± 0.0327 20 3737.3 ± 79.0 ± 0.50 14661 ± 0.0323 30 2412.0 ± 57.6 ± 0.60 11297 ± 0.0295 REMOVAL 1. Remove the Front bumper. (For removal, refer Font Bumper removal procedure in Body Section). 2. Disconnect the electrical connection. 3. Pull out the OAT sensor from the location. FITMENT For fitment, follow reverse procedure of removal. C. INCAR SENSOR Incar sensor is a sensor that measures the average passenger cabin ambient temperature. NOTE No fitment can be done of the incar sensor since it’s a part of the control panel.
