522 BRAKE SYSTEM FRONT BRAKE SHOES Removal : 1. Removewheel(s). (Refer wheel removal procedure/ Wheels and tires group) 2. Remove front brake drum. (Refer Front BrakeDrum removal procedure) 3. Push brake shoe pin with the help of special tool (Part No. 2834 5890 42 01) and turn the shoe pin to remove from shoe hold down spring. 4. Remove lower shoe return spring and take out brake shoe assembly. CAUTION: Ensure that, edges of brake shoes do not damage wheel cylinder dust covers. Inspection : 1. Inspect all parts for wear or damage. Use a wire brush to remove any corrosion, take care not to damage wheel cylinder covers. 2. Check condition of return springs and renew if necessary. 3. Check brake linings as shown in figure and replace brake shoes if found below specified. (Refer MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT for brake shoe service limit)
