ENGINE 273 MPFI 287 ENGINE LAPTOP BASEDDIAGNOSTIC TESTER The Diagnostic Tester software for EMS ECUmodule has a capability to communicate with the ECU on a serial K- Line interface using KWP2000 protocol. The Tester comprises an interface unit called Silicon Engine and software. The user can load the Diagnostic Tester software on his/her laptop/desktop PC. Interface cables are also there in the Diagnostic Tester set up. One runs from the 16 pin diagnostics connector to Silicon engine input stage and there is one cable running from Silicon Engine output stage to Laptop, which connects to RS232/USB port of the Laptop/PC The tester will execute all the commands supported by ECU, which help in diagnostic of the EMS ECU system. Tester only helps us to determine the location of problem in the system but will not solve the problem in the vehicle. Technician must do the correction of the problem in the specified location. Once the necessary changes are made, must erase the errors stored in the ECU memory. Subsequently to confirm that problem is solved, vehicle is to be run again for 5 km and checked to ensure that errors are not repeating.
