Why DTE value remains constant for long duration?  This happens when actual distance which vehicle can run with the available fuel and existing fuel economy is much higher than displayed DTE.  Or Fuel filled is more than the actual rated capacity of Tank i.e. up to neck of Tank.  DTE will update after some distance or do the ignition on and off for correcting the Display DTE to actual. Average Fuel Economy: A. Why AFE values keep on changing?  AFE value depends on driving patterns and different trips. This value is published by EMS ECU and averaged in IC for AFE calculation based upon distance covered in current trip. B. Why AFE value is showing more or less than normal during initial trip reset?  During initial trip reset the AFE value is not matured so there are chances that display AFE value is more or less than the normal AFE value.
