FUEL SYSTEM 19 F. HIGH PRESSURE (H.P) SENSOR: Function: HP sensor is an electronic sensor (Piezo electric type) that sends electric signal to gas ECU. The sensor monitors the pressure continuously and communicates with the CNG ECU. If difference in pressure is observed then CNG ECU understands that as a leakage and restricts the vehicle to go to CNG mode i.e. whenever any drop in pressure in high pressure line is observed, HP sensor immediately alerts the CNG ECU about the leakage and CNG ECU will not allow the changeover to gas mode. The HP sensor also sends pressure signal input to CNG ECU to show CNG in the cylinder on instrument cluster / fuel gauge. Mounting Location: HP sensor is integrated with pressure regulator assembly which is mounted inside the Engine compartment on rear long member. Working Principle: A DC signal volt is produced by this semiconductor device when varying gas pressure acts on the semiconductor diaphragm. To produce this output the semiconductor device has to be excited. This signal output increases with increase in gas pressure. System Integration: This provides tank pressure signal input to ECU. The sensor is activated by excitation voltage supplied by ECU. Sensor end Pin assignment: (on connector)
