ELECTRICAL 197 5. CENTRAL LOCKING & RKE An unlocked vehicle is an open invitation to a vehicle thief. Built-in features such as central locking, remote key less entry and immobilizer along with other features provides the highest degree of security and a level of convenience. 5.1 CENTRAL LOCKING AND UNLOCKING 5.1.1 Description The central locking process includes locking and unlocking of all the door locks depending on specific variant configuration. The two main types of central locking are, 1. Manual central locking (Using mechanical key, internal switch & internal lock/unlock knob) 2. Remote central locking (Using the lock unlock switches on remote key-fob)  Central locking Actuator operation timings If BCM sense the lock/unlock input from the remote, mechanical key, FACIA switches, lock/unlock knob, set/reset switch then BCM shall provide the actuator lock & unlock command for 330 mSec irrespective feedback signal Note - Every time BCM shall operate the lock or unlock relays for actuator actuation without any relation with the actuator feedback system Feedback is required for the flasher, mislock, arming, disarm etc… Slam locking When lock operation is requested, then all doors get centrally locked even if any of the doors is ajar.
