B1648 – 00 : VIN Number Mismatch With IPC – no sub type information Overview: ISO Code (DTC Code) B1648 - 00 Customer Symptom No effect. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Engine will not start. Lamp Status (If Any) No Odometer Learning. Fault Detection Condition VIN number mismatch with IPC hence Odometer value back- up is not updated. Normal Operating Condition WIN number Must match with IPC hence Odometer value back-up is updated properly. Probable Trouble Area 1. VIN number not correctly written into BCM. Healing Condition 1. Ignition OFF  ON. 2. Clear DTC Command. Component Details: VIN number mismatched hence Odometer value back-up is not updated. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V) 2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
