Lamp Status (If Any) CE Lamp ON after 1 drive cycle Fault Detection Condition Neutral gear sensor pin no.232 short circuited to Ground Normal Operating Condition Neutral Gear Sensor detect the Neutral Gear position Probable Trouble Area Neutral gear sensor, Wiring harness Healing Condition After 1 Drive cycles and ignition ON Fault permanent deletion 1. Scan tool Service 14 2. Stack Over Flow. 3. 40 warm up cycles. 4. ECU flashing 5. ECU power fail Component Details: This is mainly required for Engine start Stop functionality in Manual Transmission. Sensor is used to detect Neutral position and non-neutral position. Preliminary Checks: 1) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Neutral Gear Sensor and EMS ECU. 2) Loose/ Damaged Connections between Neutral Gear Sensor signal pin no.1pin 232 & Ground 3) Check for back out of pins at Neutral Gear Sensor signal. 4) Check for damage of pins at Neutral Gear Sensor signal. Trouble Shooting: - DTC’s Healing Confirmation: - After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Is there wiring harness electrical continuity between ECU pin 232 & Neutral Gear Sensor signal pin no.1 Go to Step 2 Establish continuity by rectifying harness connections as per the circuit schematic 2. Loose/ Damaged/Open Connections of Neutral Gear Sensor signal and Ground. Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to step 3 3 Are there any pins backed out from the EMS ECU Connector Rectify/Replace Connectors Go to Step 4 4 Check for damage of pins at ECU connector. Repair the harness as per the schematic Go to Step 5 5 Fault Still Persists? Replace switch and then if Fault still persists then Replace EMS ECU Follow the steps again for reconfirmation
