ELECTRICAL 211 ELECTRICAL 8.15.2 DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION AND TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES CONDITION POSSIBLE CAUSE REFERENCE ITEM/CORRECTION No acknowledge on IRVM when reverse gear is engaged with Ignition ON. Check for IRVM display connection with the controller. 1. Check the connection and rectify. 1. Faulty connection between the controller and the IRVM display. 1. Check the connection and rectify. 2. No connection of reverse gear input to the IRVM display. 2. Check the connection and rectify. 3.Function might be disabled with the tester in the IRVM display 3. Check the reverse parking system enable / disable status in the IRVM. Display using diagnostic tester and enable the status. 4. Faulty sensor 4. Replace the sensor When obstacle is present, IRVM display shows blank screen. 5. Improper connection of sensor. 5. Check for the connection, clean the bumper with soft cloth and check for the DTC 1. Replace IRVM. 3.IRVM connections faulty 3.Check the connection and rectify Values is displayed in the screen but not clear 4.Controller faulty 4.Replace the controller 8.15.3 CAUTIONS WHILE USING REVESE PARKING SYSTEM WITH ULTRASONIC SENSOR: NOTE: This system is strictly a driver assistance device. It is not a substitute of driver’s responsibility while driving. Under no circumstances will the manufacturer accept any responsibility or can be held liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential damage caused by negligent use of this system. 1.System performance is dependent on the reflection angle of ultrasonic waves from the obstacle. 2.System cannot guarantee the detection less than 30 cm. 3.System cannot sense the obstacles like cotton, wool, foam, textile or spongy surface which will absorb ultrasonic waves easily. 4.System may give wrong signal on reversing the vehicle on grasslands and bumpy roads. 5.System may give wrong signal by sensing the ground when the bumper is tilted more than the normal position or when the vehicle is heavily overloaded. 6.System may give wrong indication when the temperature of the obstacle is high as hot surfaces reflect fewe r sound waves less than cold surfaces. 7.System may give wrong signal if there is an excessive increase in humidity as it increases the sound speed ( max. by 2%) as compared to dry air. 8.System may give false alarm during the heavy rain conditions, heavy wind conditions. 9.System will not sense the pot holes or the trenches or drainages which are below the ground level. 10.Sensor may give wrong signal if sensor is at extreme temperatures: below -30 ˚ Celsius or above 80 ˚ Celsius. 11.Clean the sensors properly and keep them free from ice, dust, mud, water, chewing gum etc. for proper working of the system.
