BRAKES 59 BRAKES DISMANTLING NOTE To overhaul caliper assembly, the carrier assembly need not be removed from the vehicle. (Refer the note at the end of caliper assembly with carrier removal in this section.) 1 Remove the caliper pads. (For procedure refer caliper pad replacement process in this section.) 2 Remove the rear caliper assembly from the vehicle. (For procedure refer caliper assembly removal process in this section.) 3 Loosen and remove the pin bolts and separate the caliper housing from carrier. 4 Take out the sliding boot and pin from the carrier. 5 Keep the wooden piece in between the plunger and the caliper housing and blow dry compressed air into the caliper gradually through the inlet port. (Where banjo bolt get connected). 6 Now you will observe the piston coming out of the caliper gradually. After cleaning the surfaces remove the dust boot from caliper housing by pulling the same with fingers. Take out the piston from the caliper housing and remove the boot from the piston.
