TRANSFER CASE 31 TANSFER CASE 4.3.3.3 INSPECTION & CLEANING INSPECTION 1. Visually check all the parts for damage. 2. Referring to normal gear tooth face, specifically inspect the uneven wear and chips of gear tooth. Replace if necessary. NOTE Always replace the hose coupling and oil seals with new parts. CLEANING NOTE Before cleaning, check the magnet for the presence of metal particles which indicate internal chipping of the transfer case. 1. Using a cleaning solvent, clean the old oil and dirt deposits 2. After cleaning dry the parts with low pressure (20 PSI maximum) compressed air. 3. Lubricate the ball bearings and needle bearing with specified oil. Protect lubricated bearings from dust. 4.3.3.4 ASSEMBLY A. ADAPTER & INPUT SHAFT 1. Insert the input shaft in to the sun gear. 2. Place the thrust washer carrier plate on sun gear. 3. Place the thrust washer on the thrust washer carrier assembly.
