10. Separate the housing assembly from the seal
at large diameter as shown in figure Slide the
seal away from the joint axle shaft.
11. Remove the spider assembly circlip by using
plier and discard the retaining ring.
12. Remove the tripot spider assembly from the
axle shaft as showing below figure. If required
tab the spider assembly gently using a nylon
mallet.
13. Clean the following items thoroughly with
cleaning solvent. Remove all traces of old
grease and any contaminates.
a. Tripot balls
b. Needle rollers
c. Housing
Dry all the parts. Inspect these parts for damage
or wear.( If any of the parts are damaged, the
entire sub- assembly along with the outer housing
needs to be replaced.)
After this remove the rubber boot from the axle
shaft.
