ii. FITMENT OF PISTON AND CONNECTING
ROD SUB-ASSEMBLIES
Refer “Repair and Inspection Details” section
before reusing components.
1. Fit Piston Oil Ring, Piston Second Ring and
Piston Top Ring respectively using expander.
CAUTION
The piston ring gap should not be inline with each
other while assembling on piston.
Place the piston rings on the piston, such that the
ring gaps are 120
0
apart.
NOTE
The piston and piston rings can be reused if the
bore taper and sphericity is within the specified
limits.
Carefully examine the piston rings for cracks,
scoring, ring groove/ clip groove wear, piston pin
bore wear.
In case anyone piston is found to have any one of
the above defects, replace the complete piston set.
2. Install the Connecting Rod and Insert Piston
Pin.
3. Install Piston Pin circlips from both side of
Piston Pin.
4.
Install
the connecting rod bearing shells.
