1.2.3. ON VEHICLE REPAIRS

1.2.3.1. STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL

1. Park the car with front wheel in straight ahead

position. Apply parking brake and place wheel

chokes at rear wheels.

2. Disconnect battery.

3. Pull out the DAB assembly (In case of Airbag

version refer DAB removal procedure in SRS

section).

WARNING

Before removing steering wheel make alignment

marks on the steering wheel and the shaft for

guiding during reinstallation.

4. Remove the steering wheel nut.

5. Remove steering wheel using steering wheel

puller. (Part No. 2779 5890 46 01)

! CAUTION

Care should be taken such that self-cancellation

lugs do not get damaged (self-cancellation lugs are

shown in below figure with arrows).

INSPECTION:

Check for any damage to self-cancellation lugs, if

found, replace complete steering wheel

INSTALLATION:

1. Align the marks made on the steering wheel and

the shaft. Install steering wheel on steering shaft

2. Tighten the steering wheel nut to the specified

torque.

Tightening torque (Steering wheel nut) = 4Kg-m

3. Fit horn pad (Press fit type).

4. Connect battery.
