P0562-04: Battery Supply 1 –Open circuit
Overview:
ISO Code
P0562-04
Customer Symptom
Transmission Fault Lamp ON,
No gearshifts,
Vehicle not cranking,
sudden shift to neutral while driving,
vehicle stuck in gear while driving
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
Transmission Fault Lamp ON,
No gearshifts,
Vehicle not cranking,
sudden shift to neutral while driving,
vehicle stuck in gear while driving
Lamp Status (If Any)
Transmission Fault Lamp ON
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets detected after Ignition On when a gearshift is
not in progress and a battery power disconnection on pin 3 is
detected by TCU.
Normal Operating Condition
Battery power will be read to be present by TCU
Probable Trouble Area
Wiring Harness Connections / TCU
Healing Condition
1000 milliseconds after valid signal
Component Details:
There are 3 TCU power supplies – 1 Ignition and 2 battery power for driving valves and the hydraulic pump. The Problem may
occur due to an electrical problem or internal damage to TCU.
Preliminary Checks:
1) Blown out TCU power fuses (2 X 30 Amp)
2) Battery voltage and state of charge.
3) Loose Fitting TCU connectors.
4) Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU 28 Pin connector.
5) Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis.
CAUTION!!
To Avoid Electrical damage to TCU/Kit components - In case of a blown out fuse, power supply, ignition and
ground pins of the TCU and chassis ground should first be checked for any short/open circuits before replacing the fuse.
Trouble Shooting:-
Step Checks
IF YES
IF NO
1
Check Battery and Ignition supplies at pins
5, 1 and 3. Also check resistance between
Battery terminals and TCU power and
Ignition pins. Are resistances and
continuities OK?
Go to Step 2
rectify harness
connections as per the
circuit schematic
2
Is there any pin back
out/damage/rust/oxidation observed on
TCU 28 pin Connector?
Clean or repair or replace
connector
Go to Step 3
3
Fault Still Persists?
Replace TCU
Follow the steps again for
reconfirmation
DTC’s confirmation:-
After rectification, clear all DTC’s and ensure the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool
before handing over to customer.
Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes
Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
