1.31.3 ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN

LOCK (ESCL)

Electrical Steering Column Lock (ESCL) provides

additional security to vehicles by locking Steering

Column electronically when the user switches off

the engine and leaves the vehicle with his valid

Smart Key. ESCL unlocks the steering column in

case of authorized use of vehicle.

LOCATION

OPERATION

1. ESCL unlock operation

:

If ESCL is in lock condition, ESCL gets unlocked

when start/stop button is pressed with valid smart

key inside the vehicle. Once ESCL is successfully

unlocked, vehicle power mode changes to ACC

mode.

2. ESCL lock operation:

When vehicle is in OFF mode (ACC, IGN and

Crank are OFF) and user opens the driver door

OR vehicle lock command is received, ESCL gets

locked.

(Wheel speed shall be less than 10 rpm and

Engine RPM shall not available).
