WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL 74 CONNECTORS UNDER SCOPE OF REPAIR-CAR The secondary lock shown in the above pic, needs to be lifted up using the tool. Please ensure the above displayed orientation of the tool while inserting it for terminal removal. Once terminal lance is pressed, we need to take the wire out gently. Picture-83 Please note that the secondary lock can NOT be taken out completely from the connector, so you are advised to lift the secondary lock up by 5-6 mm using the secondary lock removal tool. Request you to not to apply unwanted force to take the secondary lock out which might break it and complete locking mechanism will get damaged. Once secondary lock is lifted up sufficiently, we need to insert the primary lock removal tool with above shown orientation (In Picture-83) to press the lance of the terminal, which is normally below the male stud/pin. We need to take the wire out softly from back of the connector while pressing the lance. Please note that there are some marks or indications on the connector. Every indication stands for some meaningful use. To lift the secondary lock up, we need to place our secondary lock removal tool on water drop marked place. You can also notice a chamfered portion of the connector against the marks. These places are meant for insertion of the secondary tool and lever the secondary lock up. Please avoid lifting the secondary lock beyond 5-6mm.
