WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL 62 The top cover of the connector can be taken out by lifting it up by a little bit and simultaneously sliding it out. During making effort for sliding it out, please take care of the personal safety and lock of the device also frombreaking.After taking out the top cover, we need to take the secondary lock out of the cavity as shown above (Secondary lock shown in purple color, Picture-65). Once Secondary lock is completely out of the connector, only then we can initiate the process for the terminal removal. Please keep in mind that the orientation of the tool matters a lot in terminal removal process, so keep the tool terminal’s chamfered portion in the outward direction while inserting the tool in upper cavity (Placed above the female cavity). After tool insertion in the locking cavity, we need to take the wire out softly. Please note that this connector comes with the connector locking/unlocking mechanism associated with the top cover. While removing the top cover, first please understand the logic of locking mechanism, then take the connector lock in home position and finally take the process forward for terminal removal to avoid the repeatability of unnecessary work. Also, please pay attention about the Lock Removal Tool’s tip orientation while inserting it to the cavity for terminal removal.
