WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL 60 This connector comes fitted with the top cover also for the complete protection of wire and the top cover comes with properly installed mechanism for the connector locking and unlocking while being places on the ECU. The top cover has several locking mechanisms on it which needs to be handled properly. Once top cover is completely, we need to take out the secondary lock completely off the connector using the prescribed secondary lock. After complete removal of the secondary lock we proceed for the primary lock removal process which is much easy but needs utmost care and attention to the tool in use and locking mechanism on the cavity wall to avoid any damage on those. For removal of lead from the connector, we need to insert the tool straight in the cavity (the upper onewith smaller size cavity) and take thewire out softly. Be careful while inserting the tool terminal, since it is much delicate and sophisticated, an extra force application can damage the tool as well as connector cavity’s locking mechanism. CONNECTORS UNDER SCOPE OF REPAIR-CAR Please note that this connector comes with the connector locking/unlocking mechanism associated with the top cover. While removing the top cover, first please understand the logic of locking mechanism, then take the connector lock in home position and finally take the process forward for terminal removal to avoid the repeatability of unnecessary work. Also, please pay attention about the Lock Removal Tool’s tip orientation while inserting it to the cavity for terminal removal. Wrong orientation of the tool tip not only places problems in terminal removal but also damages the internal locking mechanism placed in the cavity.
