SEAT
BELT
REMINDER
SYSTEM
To enhance the safety level of all occupants,
vehicle is equipped with seat belt reminder
system. The sys- tem has visual and audio
warnings to remind the oc- cupant to fasten the
seat belts. Indication for driver is located in the
instrument cluster. Indications for other
passengers are located on the facia panel.
Above features work in conjunction with Body
Control Module.
Components:
Seat Belt reminder controller
Seat belt switches for co-driver and rear
passengers (3 nos.)
Co-driver seat occupancy sensor.
4 LEDs for indication mounted on near Facia
switch panel
Related electric wiring harness
Operation:
For driver and co-driver (if co-driver seat is
occupied), if seat belts are not fastened and
ignition is turned on then buzzer will be on and
correspond- ing indications will flash. Buzzer
will stop working after 5 seconds and
indications will continue to work.
Once vehicle crosses 10 kmph in forward
direction then buzzer will come on for 120
seconds, indication will continue to flash.
Within 120 seconds of operation if vehicle
speed goes below 10 kmph or reverse gear is
engaged, then buzzer and indications will stop
working and will start a fresh cycle of 120
seconds when for- ward speed of 10kmph is
achieved.
After 120 seconds both buzzer and indication
will stop working and will not come on in the
same ignition cycle.
Buzzer and indication will stop working as
soon as seat belt is fastened.
If rear passenger seats are not occupied or
rear passenger seat belts are not fastened,
indications will come on after achieving 10 kmph
speed in for- ward direction and will continue to
work for 120 seconds. After 120 seconds
indication will stop working.
If vehicle speed goes below 10 kmph or
reverse gear is engaged then indication will
stop and will resume after 10 kmph speed is
achieved in for- ward direction.
If rear seat belts are unfastened (which were
fastened earlier) and vehicle speed is more
than 10 kmph then buzzer will come on for 5
seconds and indication for 120 second for that
corresponding rear seat. After 120 seconds
indication will stop working.
