REAR AXLE

INTRODUCTION :

The rear axle of Safari has unique features of unitised

bearings and Track - Lok.

The unitised bearing are pre - set and require no

adjustments.The lubrication is through differential lube

and draining of axle lube is not required to service the

bearing or seal of the hub.

The Track - Lok limited slip differential is similar to

conventional differential, except that part of the torque

from the ring gear is transmitted though clutch packs

between the side gears and differential case. In case

of wheel slippage the clutch pack opposite to the

slipping side, is activated by separating forces between

the pinion mate and the corresponding side gear.This

increases the torque delivered to the non slippingwheel

and the vehicle begins to move.

It is important to recognize that if, with unequal traction,

both wheel slip, the Track - Lok has done all it can

possibly do.
