The main purpose of clutch is to transfer

torque, disengage during shifting, allow

comfortable starting and to act as an efficient

vibration damper to eliminate noise and vibration in

the chassis and drive train.

The clutch is between the engine and

transmission. It consists mainly of a clutch cover

assembly and a clutch disc assembly. The clutch

transfers torque from Engine to the transmission

and then to drive the wheels.

The clutch is a 260 mm dia. single disc dry

clutch. The clutch disc is connected to the

transmission input shaft. The self adjusting clutch

is used to maintain almost constant clutch pedal

effort over lifetime of clutch.
