SUSPENSION

NOTE :

Refer exploded view of wheel bearing for

removal process.

Removal

1. Remove wheel(s) (Refer wheel removal procedure/

Wheels and Tyres group)

2. Remove front brake drum (04) (Refer Front brake

drum removal procedure/Brakes)

3. Remove internal circlip (08) using circlip plier.

4. Remove wheel bearing (07), outer spacer (06) and

inner spacer (05) by tapping with suitable tool at

the grooves shown in following figure.

Inspection

1. Inspect wheel bearing for noisy and smooth

operation. Replace if found noisy.

Following precautions should be taken before

assembly:

(a) Brake drum should be free from dust, rusting and

other foreign particles.

(b) Handle the bearing with clean and dry hands.

(c) Never use hand gloves while assembling bearing.

(d) Never hammer the bearing while assembly and

disassembly, use suitable press.

(e) All greased parts (bearing) must be protected from

dust.

(f) Complete assembly to be done in burr and dust

free environment.

(g) Lubricate wheel bearing outer surface with oil so

that it gets inserted into wheel bearing housing

easily.

Installation :

1. Install wheel bearing (07) into brake drum (04) using

a dolly. (Part No. 277958903502).

2. Insert outer spacer (06) and tap it gently such that

it seats on wheel bearing.

3. Install other wheel bearing (07) using the same

dolly. (Part No. 277958903502)

4. Insert inner spacer (05).

5. Install brake drum (04) on stub axle (01) (Refer

front brake drum installation procedure/Brakes).

6. Mount wheel(s) and tighten wheel bolts to specified

torque.

TIGHTENING TORQUE FOR WHEEL BOLTS = 8 - 8.3
