AC COMPRESSOR

Removal

1. Disconnect battery.

2. Recover refrigerant from air conditioning system

(Refer Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and

Recharging)

3. Remove compressor drive belt. (Refer

compressor belt removal procedure)

4. Disconnect electrical connector of compressor

clutch.

5. Disconnect high and low pressure pipe from

compressor. Remove ‘O’ rings.

NOTE:

As soon as the refrigerant lines disconnected, cap

the opened fittings so that moisture and dust do not

enter into the system

6. Remove compressor mounting bolts and take out

compressor.

Compressor Inspection

a. Magnet clutch inspection

Check the resistance between magnet clutch &

compressor body

Standard range 3.82 ± 5 (20ºC)

b. Magnet clutch air gap inspection

- Connect dial gauge to armature plate and set at “0”.
