GENERAL SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS
1. ENGINE NOT CRANKING
Low battery voltage
Clean and tighten the connectors. Jump start using another battery.
Get battery charged or changed.
Faulty starter
Rectify, Repair or replace
Worn out piston rings/seized pistons Overhaul & replace affected parts.
Faulty immobilizer (if fitted)
Check and rectify
2. ENGINE CRANKS BUT NOT START
Clogged air filter
Clean as per the instructions
Incorrect valve timing
Set valve timing /check & reset
Faulty spark plugs
Clean, check gap/replace if necessary
Faulty crank angle sensor
Check & correct the gap
Faulty water temperature sensor
Check & replace if necessary
Faulty TMAP sensor
Check & replace if necessary
Faulty throttle position sensor
Check & replace if necessary
Faulty IACV valve
Check & replace if necessary
Clogged injectors
Check & replace if necessary
Faulty fuel supply unit
Check & replace if necessary
Clogged fuel filter
Replace
Faulty ignition coil
Check and replace if necessary
Faulty firing order/ injector
Check and replace

Check and replace if necessary
3. ERRATIC IDLING
Intake manifold leakage
Check and rectify vacuum connections
Valve timing incorrect
Set valve timing /check & reset
Vehicle speed signal faulty
Check & replace.
IACV valve faulty
Check & replace
Faulty firing order/injector order
Check and rectify
Faulty throttle position sensor
Check & replace
4. DOES NOT IDLE
Faulty TMAP sensor
Check & replace
Faulty IACV Valve
Check & replace
Faulty fuel Supply unit
Check & replace
5. MAXIMUM RPM LOW
Battery voltage low
Check and tighten connections. Jump start using good battery or get
battery charged/changed.
Clogged air filter
Clean as per instructions
Valve timing incorrect
Set valve timing /check & reset
Spark plugs defective
Clean and check gap/replace if reqd.
Adulterated fuel
Flush the system and refill
Faulty crank angle sensor
Check the gap 1.5 + 0.5 mm
Check sensor. Replace if found faulty.
Clogged injectors
Check and Replace if found faulty
