2.4.6 ECU AND STEERING COLUMN PAIRING PROCESS

NOTE:

While doing ECU and steering column pairing procedure, Please follow the instruction displaying on

Diagnostics tool window.

If ECU and steering column pairing procedure is not completed, then EPAS warning lamp will glow in IPC

and log a DTC in EPAS ECU.

If ECU is in spare mode

(after Replacement)

, it will show a DTC

Remove ECU/ Column for service (Replacement)

Refer WM Column/ ECU

removal/ Fitment

Procedure

Connect the diagnostics unit to the OBD connector correctly.

Ensure Ignition is in

"OFF" condition.

Ensure the vehicle is in

straight ahead position.

Switch

ON

the

Ignition Key

,

Don’t crank

the Engine.

Ensure that

the following

pre-conditions are meet

before

performing steering angle calibration:

a)

9 V < Battery voltage < 16 V

b)

Vehicle speed = 0

c) Engine is

not

in running condition.

Start the

Steering Column replacement

routine

Follow the instruction

which will be showed on

Diagnostics tool.

Technician Read the

Calibration data

from Steering column label

Write these Calibration data into Diagnostic tool window.

Start the

Spare part verification routine (Paring Verification

Process) using diagnostics tool

.

10

Turn the steering wheel lock to lock condition and bring

front wheels back to the straight ahead position.

(

this process should be performed in IGN on condition

no

assistance will be available

, don’t crank the Engine

)

Stop

Spare part verification routine (Paring Verification

Process) using diagnostics tool

.

Configure the

EOL parameter

inside the ECU as per vehicle

configuration

using diagnostic tool

:-

a)

Write VIN number

b)

Write Tyre size

c)

Write Rack length

d)

Flash the calibration file - Using Re-Programming

Tool

Perform the

Steering Angle Calibration And Initialization

Process

as per defined procedure.

Follow the instruction

which will be showed on

tool (Refer Steering angle

Calibration Procedure).

Read DTC and Clear DTC

Using Diagnostic tool.

EPAS Column/ ECU Paring Procedure Completed
