5.3.1 GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Tyres
TATANANO is equipped with tubeless tyres and are
designed to operate satisfactorily with recommended
loads when inflated to correct pressure.
Tyresizeand recommended tyrepressureareas follows:
Front : 135/70R12 (26-28 psi / 1.8 - 2.0 kg/cm

)
Rear : 155/65R12 (28-30 psi / 1.9 - 2.1 kg/cm
2
)
Spare : 135/70R12 (28-30 psi / 1.9 - 2.1 kg/cm

Tyre geometry :
A tyre of size 135/70R12 is made up of following
information :
135 - Tyre section width in millimeters
70 - Aspect ratio in % (the height of the side wall
divided by the tyre’s width)
R - Tyre’s construction type - in this case it’s a radial
type
12 - Rim diameter in inches
2. Wheel Rims
Wheel rim sizes are as follows :
4B X 12 stylized steel rim (For Luxury versions)
4B X 12 Regular wheel rim half wheel covers (For
Deluxe versions)
4B X 12 Regular wheel rim (For Standard versions)
NOTE :
4B X 12 Aluminum alloy rims are available as
accessories.
5.3 WHEELS AND TYRES
Wheel assembly is an important part of the vehicle. It
consists of wheel rim and a tyre. TATA NANO is
equipped with tubeless tyre i.e. it does not require a
separate tube.
Wheel imparts motion to vehicle by rolling friction.
Tyre provides traction, braking, steering, and load
support. They combinely provide a flexible cushion
between the vehicle and the road, which smoothens
out shock, and ensure comfortable ride to the
occupants.
Tyres should be inflated to correct and recommended
pressure as it plays an important role to achieve
desired functions while driving and handling.
