On vehicle Removal, Inspection & Refitment
Procedure
Throttle Body assembly consists of -
1. Bare throttle body (with spring)
2. Throttle position sensor (TPS) and
3. IntakeAir Control valve (IACV)
Removal Procedure
•
Remove battery negative terminal using ring
spanner.
Precaution :
Ensure that the removed terminal is away from the
battery negative post.
•
Remove the Throttle position sensor connector.
Precaution :
Ensure that the lock is pressed and the coupler is
pulled, not the wires.
•
Remove the IACV valve connector.
Precaution :
Ensure that the lock is pressed and the coupler is
pulled, not the wires.
•
Unscrew the ISC valve fixing screws using star
screw driver.
•
Remove the IAC valve from the throttle body
Precaution :
•
Keep the IAC valve in clean area.
Inspection of IAC Valve
•
Check the resistance value of the stepper motor of
the IAC valve.
•
Check the function of the IAC valve for stickiness
1. Connect the wiring harness coupler with the
ISC valve.
2. Hold the IAC valve plunger tip by thumb and
switch on the ignition.
3. The plunger will move up and immediately come
down if valve is ok.
Refitment of IAC valve on throttle body
•
Check the condition of the o-ring of the ISC valve.
Precaution :
Ensure that the O-ring is not cut and is placed in
position.
•
Position the ISC valve in the throttle body.
Precaution :
Do the operation in a clean area.
•
Using star screw driver, screw the ISC valve fixing
screws.
•
Fit the accelerator cable connection to throttle body.
•
Fit the clamps to the throttle body assembly using
screw driver.
•
Connect the IACV connector.
•
Reconnect battery negative terminal.
