SUSPENSION 17 CONDITION PROBABLE DEFECT CORRECTIVE ACTION Suspension Bottoms 1. Vehicle overloaded. 2. Damaged bump stopper. 3. Springs set permanently broken. 4. Faulty dampers. 1. Check loading. 2. Replace bump stopper. 3. Replace springs / sagging. 4. Replace dampers. Low or Uneven Trim Height 1. Broken or sagging springs. 2. Vehicle overloaded. 3. Springs incorrect. 1. Replace the springs. 2. Check the load. 3. Replace the springs. Body Sways in Corners 1. Loose anti roll bar (ARB). 2. Faulty strut or mounting. 3. Broken or sagging springs. 1. Tighten ARB bolts or replace the mounting bushes. 2. Replace strut or tighten mounting. 3. Replace springs. 6. PRECAUTIONS 1. Since all suspension fasteners are critical in suspension attachments with regard to performance and safety of vehicle, these must be replaced with one of the same part number in case of replacement. 2. Torque values must be maintained as specified during reassembly for proper retention of the parts. The replacement parts should be of the same quality as of the designed parts. 3. Damaged parts should be replaced only with new parts. Welding, straightening, or any other form of repairing should not be attempted. 4. Lower arm bushes are to be aligned properly while fitment. 5. Care should be taken while handling spring loaded suspension component. 6. All self-locking type fasteners not to be re-used once joint is dismantled. 7. Unless otherwise specified, no oil/lubricant/thread locker allowed on fastener, fastener bearing surface or surface where fastener will sit while assembly. 8. All fasteners to be paint marked after torque tightening is applied.
