1.5L REVOTORQ ENGINE viii. FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT For Filter Without Clogging Sensor WARNING If diesel leakage is detected, do not start the vehicle or allow an open flame or spark near the vehicle. Have the fuel leak repaired immediately. The fuel system is under pressure. Relieve fuel system pressure before replacing the filter. DESCRIPTION The fuel filter is mounted on transaxle on the front side in the vehicle. A band clamp secures the fuel filter in place. Replace the fuel filter when changing the engine oil (at 45000 Km or 2 years whichever is earlier). When the vehicle is operated in adverse conditions or where fuel quality is questionable, more frequent replacement may be necessary. REMOVAL 1. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the power supply to the system fuel pump and cranking the engine. 2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. 3. Disconnect both electrical connection to the fuel filter. 4. Remove the fuel line connections (Quick fit Connectors) to the fuel filter. 5. Pry out harness rivets on mounting bracket. 6. Remove Hex FL screw mountings on Filter Assy.
