REMOVAL PROCEDURE OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY, Rear (or Equalizer End) 8. Remove the parking brake cable assy. end from cable Jointer. 9. Remove parking brake cable assy. “END-CAP” by pressing crown from bracket welded on RTB. Then remove the M6 Hex Flange Screw from 10. parking brake cable mounting clamps at BIW underbody. Disconnect the front cable from the slot 11. provided on equalizer. H. PARKING BRAKE CABLE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE 1.Before parking brake cable slackness adjustment, confirm the following conditions. 2. Bleeding should be completed. (i.e. there should not be air trapped in the brake system). 3. Confirm pedal travel by depressing the brake pedal for few times. 4. Check the lining condition of the rear brake; it should not have been worn out beyond limit. After confirming all the above points, start adjusting the parking brake lever stroke by either loosening or tightening the self-locking slackness adjustment nut. For details, refer maintenance section. Keep Parking brake lever in 0th notch and 5. tighten the parking brake cable adjustment nut through Console Rear cover opening. 6. Pull Parking brake lever fully and release it for 5 times. 7. If notch position is 4 to 5 then hand brake setting is OK. 8. If notch position is above 5, then tighten the hand brake adjustment nut for getting final notch position. 9. If notch position is below 4, then loosen the nut for getting final notch position.
