F. REMOVAL OF PARKING BRAKE LEVER 1. From cabin, remove center console assy. 2. Remove M6 HEX FLANGE mounting SCREW of seal assy. from top side. 3. Disconnect the electrical connections to PBL Assy. 4. Remove marked M6 HEX FLANGE Nuts for removal of PBL assy. & pull out the cable through slot on BIW. FITMENT – For re-fitment of PB Cable Assy & PB Lever Assy, follow the reverse procedure of removal, and ensure that parking brake lamp becomes “ON”, when parking brake lever is at first notch. G. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL PROCEDURE OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY – Drum End 1. Ensure parking brake lever in fully released condition. 2. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut till the end of threaded rod, through pocket provided on rear side of center console. 3.For drum removal refer process from “REMOVAL & REFITMENT OF REAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY”. 4. Place the vehicle on two post lift. NOTE 1. While assembly, ensure that there are no twists in the cables. 2. Pipe end of Front cable Assy to be inserted through oblong slot & anchoring with Equalizer. 3. Tightening torque for Seal Assy mounting to floor is 0.8 to 1.0 kg-m. 4. Tightening torque for parking brake lever mounting to floor is 0.8 to 1.0 kg-m. 5. Tightening torque for parking brake cable mounting clamps Screw to underbody floor is 0.8 to 1.0 kg-m. 6. After fitment adjust the parking brake. (For procedure refer parking brake adjustment in regular maintenance section). BRAKE (MR) 56
