3. Ensure SRS components are not contaminated with oil, grease, detergent or water. It is essential that SRS components are fitted using the recommended torques. 4. Do not install used SRS components from another vehicle. When replacing SRS system, only use TATA authorized genuine new parts. 5. It is essential that SRS components are fitted using the recommended torques. Always use specified earth fixings tightened to the correct torque. Poor earthing can cause intermittent problems that are difficult to diagnose. 6. Do not cut, drill, braze or solder the Airbag gas generator assembly. 7. Do not allow the air bag module assemblies to come into contact with electrical current. 8. Never hammer on any SRS component - it might get damaged internally. 9. Do not carry the airbag or pre-tensioner module, with the cable assembly connected - long cables can pick up Electrostatic Charge particularly if dragged on the floor and could lead to deployment of airbag. Do not attempt to refold the bag into the cover. 10. Deployment protection may be compromised or injury may be induced. This is because foreign objects could enter the bag, or the vehicle specific bag-folding pattern could be altered from its original optimized design. Prior to commencing any test procedure on the 11. vehicle, ensure that only test equipment approved for the purpose is being utilized and that it is in good working order. Ensure any harness or connectors are in good condition and any warning lamps are fully functional. Do not keep a live airbag module with the 12. deployment side faced down. Place the Airbag modules such that the deployment side is placed facing upwards and away from any loose parts. Only use the diagnostic tool to probe faults in 13. the Airbag system, NEVER use electrical probing instruments like Multimeter as the probing current may deploy the airbag. Never attach anything to the airbag cover or 14. allow anything to rest on top of the airbag module. Always store airbag module in a dry, cool and 15. secured area. Never attempt to modify any splice or repair 16. SRS wiring harness. Always ensure airbag wiring is routed correctly. 17. Be careful to avoid trapping or pinching the airbag wiring. Look for possible points of chafing. SRS 6
