BRAKES_MR 59 14. YAW RATE SENSOR WORKING PRINCIPLE A yaw rate sensor is a gyroscopic device that measures a vehicle’s angular velocity around its vertical axis. The output is usually in degrees per second or radians per second. The angle between the vehicles heading and vehicle actual movement direction is called slip angle, which is related to the yaw rate. The measurement is based on the Coriolis Effect. The Coriolis Effect is an apparent deflection of moving objects when they are viewed from a rotating reference frame. This Sensor is used to measure the physical effects of yawing, lateral and longitudinal acceleration. In order to achieve this, the Sensor features both a sensor element for yaw rate and one or two sensor elements for acceleration. LOCATION Yaw rate sensor is located on transmission tunnel in front of the gear stick\under the floor console. CONNECTOR DETAILS PIN NO. DESCRIPTION 1 GND 2 CAN H 3 CAN L 4 SUPPLY REMOVAL 1. Remove the central floor console. (Refer central floor console removal in the body section). 2. Disconnect the electrical connection. 3. Remove the two mounting nut and take out the sensor. REFITMENT Follow the removal process in reverse.
