BRAKES_MR 48 4. Remove the parking brake cable holder lock pin from the back plate 5. Remove the parking brake cable. Slip it up and out of the parking brake lever that is attached to the trailing brake shoe. 6. Disconnect the brake cylinder hydraulic line. 7. Remove return springs by using a brake spring tool. 8. Unscrew the mounting bolts of the back plate and Remove the back plate 9. Remove the brake shoe hold-down springs. Press against the head of the hold-down pin at the rear of the backing plate with finger, then compress the hold-down spring with a plier or brake hold-down spring tool. Turn the cup/tool to remove it from the pin (IF APPLICABLE).
