DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE FOR DRIVE 10. SHAFT 1. Hold the centre of the axle shaft in the vice and clean the shaft throughly, using cleaning solvent. Important: Do not damage the Booting surface of outer housing. 2. Remove the small Boot retaining clamp from the axle shaft with a side cutter or by tapping the clamp ear junction screw driver with rounded edge as marked in below figure. Discard the small retaining clamp. Important: The screw driver should not damage the Boot. 3. Remove the larger retaining clamp from the inboard joint by using the screw driver/plier. 4. Separate the housing assembly from the Boot at large diameter as shown in figure Slide the Boot away from the joint axle shaft. DRIVESHAFT 11
