NEW NEXON SERVICE MANUAL

REQUIRED ACTIVITIES AFTER TCU AND/OR HCU REPLACEMENT I. As described in the information about the Hydraulic control Unit, it is required that the correct cooling flow characterization (determined by HCU cooling solenoids) is flashed on the used TCU’s EEPROM memory. To ensure that the stored cooling characterization is matching with the actual mounted HCU, a diagnostic check takes place. Together with the HCU cooling characterization, the pressure sensors unique serial ID is also stored in the same EEPROM dataset as the clutch cooling characterization. Diagnostics will then monitor if the received serial ID of the pressure sensors is matching with the stored pressure sensor serial ID. If this is not the case, the diagnostic module will open the powertrain, to protect the transmission. This diagnostic fault can become active in the following situations; TCU replacement new TCU provided by AS&S to the OEM = will have a blank serial number in eeprom fault is triggered If an existing TCU from another transmission is used = serial numbers don’t match • fault is triggered HCU replacement If data set not updated in TCU = serial numbers don’t match • fault triggered • Methods of flashing data to TCU in after sales EEPROM memory Dataset will need to be provided to the workshop (by AS&S) Example; 00 00 00 02 3F 87 AE 14 40 82 8F 5C 3F 73 33 33 42 4D f5 C3 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 A2 Note; This is an encrypted data with a checking mechanism. Methods of communicating the parameters to OEM workshop (To be finalize after allignment with TML) The OEM shall need to maintain a database what contains; Vehicle Identification Number • Transmission ID number • HCU serial number • HCU parameter dataset • For each batch of transmissions provided to the OEM, additionally data is transferred from punch powertrain to the OEM, containing; Transmission ID number • HCU serial number • HCU parameter dataset • For after sales HCU’s, additional data is transferred from punch powertrain to the OEM, containing; HCU serial number • HCU parameter dataset • It is of great importance that the OEM keeps track of the mounted HCU in the vehicle. In case a TCU would be defect and the memory with the stored adaptions is no longer available, it needs to be known what HCU dataset was on this TCU’s EEPROM memory.
