C. KEY COMPONENTS TCU I. The Transmission Control Unit (TCU) is the brain of the DT1. This unit contains the control software to operate the transmission. There is connection with the vehicle CAN, and with the shift by wire module. The TCU also has an EEPROM memory, what contains the adaption values from the transmission. This is replaceable, in case of internal failures. In that case a diagnostic trouble code will be set, and UDS Questionnaire document will indicate what to do to solve the issue. If the sollution is to replace the TCU, it is required to copy the adaptions from the old TCU and store this on the new TCU. Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) 17
