COMPLAINT CONCERNS CAUSES REMEDY 4. JUDDERING DURING PULLING AWAY Clutch judder on initial take up of torque. Oil or grease found between the clutch disc & clutch cover. Excessive grease applied on input shaft splines. Only use the needed amount and correct type of grease Avoid excessive lubrication which could contaminate the frictional surfaces 5. LOSS OF DRIVE Loss of drive The friction material has come off from both sides (centrifuged). The shattered linings are lodged into the cover assembly or are loose in the clutch housing. Some part of driven plate could be broken Error by driver - e.g. accidentally changing from 4th to 2nd gear at higher road speeds like 60kmph. Allow the vehicle speed to reduce before shifting to a lower gear. Clutch ineffective or not operating Vehicle cannot be shifted in any gear Clutch does not get disengaged Hydraulic system malfunctioning. Replace the faulty component. Check for leakages and rectify them. Bleed the system if required Check the clamps and replace if necessary. 6. VIBRATIONS THROUGH THE PEDAL WHEN STARTING TO DE-CLUTCH Pedal vibration when starting to De-clutch. The fingers of the diaphragm are out of alignment and show signs of damage. The gearbox input shaft has struck the fingers of the diaphragm on fitting. Carefully guide in the gearbox to avoid the input shaft hitting the cover on fitting. 7.
