C. COOLING SYSTEM Cooling System Schematic Layout Description The above figure gives the coolant flow circuit with the components. The coolant flow is controlled by the thermostat. In addition to the Cylinder head and block, the coolant also circulates through Oil cooler, and radiator. Auxiliary tank is provided to compensate for the drop in coolant level. In addition there is a degassing line connected between thermostat housing and radiator top tank. These help in maintaining the system pressure created by expansion and contraction of the coolant. The Cooling system consists of the following components. 1. Radiator. 2. Auxiliary Tank 3. Thermostat. 4. Water pump. COMPONENTS 1. Radiator The radiator is a heat exchanger that is used to dissipate the coolant heat. A radiator fan is used to create forced air circulation. Radiator consists of radiator core, inlet tank and an outlet tank. Diesel Engine Ph-2 (CAFÉ) 85
