Check DTC and rectify 3. Top up / Inspect system for leaks 4. Replace the water pump 5. Action to be taken 6. Adjust brake shoes 7. Locked if caliper piston is stretched replace the caliper piston 8. Replace affected parts 9. Remove thermostat and check for proper opening at specified temperature. Test operation of engine cooling fan, 10. repair / replace as necessary. 7 Over cooling 1. Defective thermostat 2. Defective temperature sending unit 1. Remove thermostat and check for proper opening at specified temperature. 2. Check coolant temperature sending unit. Replace as necessary. ENGINE NOISE 8 Abnormal Noise from engine 1. Noise from bearings of bearing block 2. Noise from Alternator/ power steering pump bearing 3. Defective/ Loose timing belt 4. AC belt loose 5. Water pump bearing failure 6. Con Rod bush worn out 7.Big end/Main bearings & journals of crankshaft worn out 8. Piston Ring broken 9. Crankshaft broken Exhaust system choked k) Air 10. Cleaner Element choked l) Fuel Filters choked m) Defective Injectors 1. Repair/Replace the bearing block 2. Repair/Replace the alternator/power steering pump 3. Replace the timing belt 4. Replace the belt 5. Replace the water pump 6. Replace Con Rod and affected parts 7. Replace bearings & affected parts 8. Replace piston rings & affected parts 9. Replace the affected parts Clean the exhaust system 10. Replace the air cleaner element 11. Replace the fuel filters 12. 13. Replace Injectors 9 ‘Tapping’ or ‘ticking’ noise from the top end of the engine 1. Fuel injectors worn excessively 2. Excessively worn camshaft 1. Fuel injectors will make some ticking noise. Replace fuel injectors if not putting out enough fuel to cylinders 2. Inspect camshaft lobes and run out for excessive wear. Replace as necessary. Diesel Engine Ph-2 (CAFÉ) 12
