3. Identify the brake pipes going into and out of the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) with tags so that reinstallation of the brake lines becomes easy. 4. Remove the brake pipes from the HCU and plug the HCU ports with suitable grommet. 5. Remove the bolts attaching ECU to the mounting bracket and take out the ECU from bracket. INSTALLATION 1. Put the grommets and the mounting studs at appropriate places. 2. Align the bottom ECU grommet to the dowel in mounting bracket and insert ECU so that both the mounting studs get aligned 3. Tighten the bolts to the ECU stud with mounting bracket to specified torque. (1.0 Kgm) 4. Reconnect brake lines. Be certain that the brake lines have been connected to the correct ports to ensure proper ABS operation. Tighten the coupling nut to specified torque. (1.4 - 1.6 Kgm) 5. Connect the ECU harness connector. 6. Bleed the brake system. 7. Clear all fault code memories. 8. Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation of the base and ABS systems WARNING Never apply a 12V power source to any terminal of the ECU connector when it’s disconnected. NOTE Proper care must be taken before removing • the brake pipes from HCU; the HCU must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent dirt particles from falling into the ports of HCU or entering the brake pipes.
