TIAGO/TIGOR ICNG TWIN CYLINDER - SERVICE MANUAL

1.2L REVOTRON TWIN CYLINDER CNG ENGINE 105 7. CNG Cylinder Valve Function: The Cylinder valve is a safety and control device which can open or shut-off the CNG supply. The flow of gas from the filling receptacle to the cylinder and from the cylinder towards the engine happens via the cylinder valve. The valve consists of a Pressure Release Valve, Pressure Release Device and an Excess Flow Valve. These safety devices provide protection in case of line rupture, over pressure and fire. The Pressure Release valve and Pressure Release device operates independently for additional protection. The Cylinder valve consists of following components. Excess flow device: This cuts off the flow of gas from inside the cylinder to the outside in the event of complete rupture of the high pressure stainless steel tube. The cut off happens due to the pressure differential between the tank pressure and ambient. Burst Disc/Pressure Release Valve: This is a valve which opens up and relieve the cylinder pressure if it exceeds 300 bar. Fusible plug: Fusible plug is a pressure relief device which is thermal activated in case of excessive rise in temperature near the valve. The device is activated when the temperature exceeds about 108 °C. Manual ON / OFF Knob or Tap: The cylinder valve has a manual tap/valve is normally kept open and it can be closed at the time of maintenance / service and/or when the vehicle is parked in confined space and in case of leakage in the high pressure or low pressure line. The Knob should be open to allow flow of CNG to Engine. In the close position, CNG feeding from the tank to the engine and CNG filling from the filling receptacle to the tank is closed. The opening and closing directions are clearly marked on the knob. To open the valve, the knob must be turned completely in the anti-clockwise direction and to close, the knob must be turned completely in the clockwise direction (Refer Cylinder valve sticker for ON/OFF position.).
