PUNCH iCNG SERVICE MANUAL

Q. CNG FUEL SYSTEM GENERAL PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHILE DISMANTLING / WORKING ON CNG SYSTEM 1. Ensure that there is no source of spark, cigarettes or open flame near the vehicle during dismantling of CNG System. 2. Ensure that working area is well ventilated. 3. Always use personal protective equipment while removing and re-fitment. 4. Ensure that suitable fire extinguishers are available while working. 5. Close the manual valve on the cylinder valve and run the engine at idle till the CNG in the fuel lines is consumed. Wait for the engine to cool down. 6. Remove Battery Terminal. 7. While Removing CNG components use proper protective gloves. 8. Spilt Coolant should always be wiped away immediately. 9. Then start removal procedure of desired fuel system component. DO’S AND DON’TS DO’S 1. Always Inspect joints etc. under pressure for leaks and proper installation after reinstallation. 2. Ensure tubing is bottomed on Fitting body before re-tightening. 3. Always consume gas in the lines by running the engine on gas until the gas is consumed by closing cylinder valve manual tap before servicing working on any CNG components. 4. Ensure that mating components threads are of same standards. 5. Tighten all the connectors as per the instruction of fitting manufacturer. 6. Always check cylinder and cylinder valve alignment. DON’TS 1. Never loosen any Component when system is pressurized. 2. Do not tighten taper threads without Teflon tape. 3. Do not put excessive weight or lean on tubing. • CYLINDER REMOVAL 1. Keep fire extinguisher ready nearby while removal performing activity as safety measures. 2. Disconnect the battery cable. 3. Loosen the top clamp and slide down the collapsible hoses. NOTE Park the vehicle with brakes ON and duel • selector switch is kept in CNG mode. Manually turn of the tank valve and connect • the TML tester tool and start the service “Empty CNG lines”. Crank the engine and run in idle condition • until engine stop at its own. Re crank the engine it should not start (tank • pressure should be 0 bar). WARNING Do not turn OFF Cylinder Valves while vehicle running on CNG mode. This may wrongly detect the leakage error. CAUTION Perform carefully as there may be residual pressure in the high pressure line which could get relieved during this operation. 1.2L REVOTRON CNG PHASE-2 ENGINE 138
