FATC SENSORS AND ACTUATORS 19. LINEAR PRESSURE SENSOR A. Linear pressure sensor is provided on the highpressure tube liquid line of the refrigerant, it is functionally connected to Vehicle Electronic control Unit (VCU) to control the AC compressor, and radiator / condenser fan. REMOVAL Discharge the refrigerant using standard 1. recovering equipment. Remove Front Bumper. (Refer Body Draft) 2. Disconnect electrical connector on sensor. 3. Loosen & remove pressure switch. 4. CONDENSER AND RECEIVER DRIER B. CONDENSER The condenser is a heat exchanger used to cool the hot vaporised refrigerant. Also the refrigerant changes its state from vapour to liquid. The condenser is placed behind the radiator. Cooling fan is placed behind the condenser to pull ambient air through radiator and condenser. CONDENSER SEALING DUCTS Sealing’s are used to guide the flow of the air to the condenser and also to avoid the hot air recirculating from the bonnet compartment to the condenser. RECEIVER DRIER (R.D) The receiver drier is integrated into the Condenser and has three main functions. It absorbs the moisture in the refrigerant. 1. It allows only liquid (high pressure liquid) to 2. pass through to the TXV. It keeps a reserve of refrigerant to 3. accommodate fluctuating refrigerant requirements. REMOVAL Remove the radiator (Refer Radiator removal 1. process). Loosen and remove the 4 condenser mounting 2. bolts on the radiator and separate out the condenser. FATC 32
