Provide 20- 22 nm full torque to pivot bracket 7. nuts on ccb. (refer the picture for fitment sequence) Pull the column upwards once manually using 8. upper shaft. Perform column tilt up and tilt down 2-3 times. 9. Provide 25 nm torque to front mounting nuts. 10. (Refer the picture for fitment sequence). Perform column tilt up & down 2-3 times. 11. Provide 20 -22 nm full torque to pivot bolt. 12. (Refer the picture for fitment sequence). Lastly tilt up the column & lock the tilt lever. 13. INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REMOVAL C. REMOVAL Loosen the universal joint bolt between steering 1. column & intermediate shaft. Remove the universal joint bolt between 2. intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly. Disengage the intermediate shaft from rack & 3. pinion assembly and take out the intermediate shaft. REFITMENT Keep the front wheels in straight ahead 1. position. For assembly follow reverse procedure of 2. removal. NOTE Do not swap column. Wheel alignment is necessary after installation (Refer wheel alignment procedure). WARNING Do not reuse the universal joint bolts. NOTE Re-fitment ofuniversal joint between intermediate shaft and rack & pinion assembly use new bolt for tightening.
